Gianfranco Baruchello, born in Livorno in 1924, developed a radically personal language, close to the conceptual experiments of the second half of the 20th century. Painting, drawing, writing, film and objects all contribute to an exploration that challenges the hierarchies between image and word.

Artistic language and research

Many works feature small figurative elements, notes, and fragments distributed across large surfaces. This apparent dispersion creates a network of associations: viewers are invited to read the image, explore it, and make connections. Emptiness is not absence, but an active space for thought.

The artworks and techniques

Interdisciplinary experiences, including those related to Agricola Cornelia, show the artist’s interest in the relationships between culture, economics, and everyday life. Even in graphic artworks, the value lies not in the simple illustration of an idea, but in the process of constructing meaning. Mixed media, drawings, and multiples require precise descriptions.
