Giuseppe Amadio is a prominent Umbrian painter of international renown, born in Todi in 1944, where he still lives and works today. An eclectic artist and refined intellectual, he has distinguished himself through his aesthetic research between rationality and emotion. After attending free courses in design and advertising graphics, Amadio worked in industrial signage and operated as a designer in the furniture sector. Central to his path was the collaboration with Piero Dorazio, which lasted over twenty years and strongly influenced his artistic development.
Giuseppe Amadio began his career as a material-gestural artist, but over time he developed an increasingly conceptual language. His painting evolved into an abstract-concrete approach, characterized by monochrome artworks and a deep reflection on form and pictorial surface. This stylistic development led him to stand out for his ability to develop a personal visual grammar, in which rigor, proportion, and aesthetic research coexist with emotion and feeling.
Amadio is known for the craftsmanship quality and innovation that characterize his works: traced and shaped elements alternate on surfaces that explore the boundaries of space and perception. Since the 1980s, he has exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions, in Italy and abroad, from Berlin to London to Miami, receiving appreciation from both the public and critics.
