GIUSEPPE AMADIO

Giuseppe Amadio is a contemporary artist born in 1944 in Todi, a town in Umbria where he still lives and works today. His career has been influenced by a varied artistic education, including technical-artistic schools and courses in design and advertising graphics. Thanks to these experiences, Amadio has acquired cross-disciplinary skills ranging from industrial signage to furniture design. His interest in the visual arts manifested from a young age, leading him to develop a personal artistic language. His aesthetic sensitivity was further enriched by a collaboration, lasting over twenty years, with the artist Piero Dorazio.

The artworks of Giuseppe Amadio stand out for a abstract and conceptual language. After an initial period characterized by a material-gestural poetics, Giuseppe Amadio embarked on an artistic research that led him towards the monochrome extroflexed canvases.
These artworks, expressions of a unique language, explore new compositional, chromatic, and spatial dimensions. Amadio uses monochromatic surfaces to create plays of light and shadow, giving his creations a three-dimensional appearance. Each artwork by Giuseppe Amadio is the result of a balance between emotion and rationality, feelings and logic. This approach has made him one of the most fascinating interpreters of contemporary art.
Giuseppe Amadio has participated in numerous exhibitions, both in Italy and abroad, since the 1980s. His exhibitions have touched cities such as Perugia, Milan, Rome, Florence, and Berlin, among others. Thanks to this intense exhibition activity, the artworks of Giuseppe Amadio have been appreciated by both the public and critics. In 2011, Amadio received the prestigious Premio delle Arti Premio della Cultura as Artist of the Year at the Circolo della Stampa in Milan, an award presented by Prof. Carlo Franza, art historian and critic. This award confirmed his prominent role in the contemporary artistic scene.
Amadio has been able to combine aesthetics and content, creating artworks that capture the viewer's imagination. His artistic research is based on a continuous exploration of the limits of the canvas, transforming flat surfaces into three-dimensional structures. The monochrome extroflexed canvases, which characterize the artworks of Giuseppe Amadio, are the result of a deep reflection on matter and space. This type of visual language represents a meeting point between tradition and innovation, placing Giuseppe Amadio among the most important exponents of contemporary abstract art.
Recently, the artworks of Giuseppe Amadio have attracted growing attention from the art market, with a noticeable rise in their quotations. This phenomenon testifies to the importance and relevance of his work in the current context, where artistic research and originality are particularly appreciated.
