      Mario Tozzi (Fossombrone, 30 October 1895 - Saint-Jean-du-Gard, 8 September 1979) was an Italian painter.

      He was born in Fossombrone, in the province of Pesaro-Urbino, the first of five brothers. His father Giacinto Tommaso, a doctor, establishes the family in Suna on the Piedmontese shore of Lake Maggiore. He abandoned his chemistry studies at the L. Cobianchi Institute in Intra to devote himself to his artistic vocation and entered the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna in 1913, where he met Morandi and Licini. He graduated in 1915. He did his military service in the First World War, in which he lost two brothers.
